In a significant federal case, Jesus Angel Reyna, a 36-year-old man, has been sentenced to 189 months in prison following his involvement in the death of a 30-year-old woman due to a fentanyl overdose. The court also mandated that Reyna pay nearly $7,000 in restitution to cover funeral expenses for the grieving parents of the victim.

Reyna’s dealings came to light after he sold several fentanyl-laced pills to the victim in Anaheim on October 28, 2022. Tragically, the woman took these pills two days later, resulting in a fatal overdose. Prosecutors revealed that Reyna had a prior history of selling drugs to the same individual, emphasizing a pattern of dangerous behavior that led to this heartbreaking consequence.

In February 2023, Reyna was arrested during a drug deal in the parking lot of his own apartment. Law enforcement searches then revealed an alarming cache of illegal substances in his residence. These included 680 grams of methamphetamine, 457 grams of cocaine, 7.30 grams of MDMA, and 23 grams of Xanax. This discovery highlighted the significant scale of Reyna’s drug operations and his blatant disregard for community safety.

Reyna pleaded guilty on September 2, 2023, to possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
