In an unfortunate turn of events, Hadi Ahmadi, beloved husband and father, tragically lost his life while saving his son during a kayaking incident. The 55-year-old named his mechanical engineering business, Artin Hadi LLC, after his son, reflecting the immense love he had for the young boy. Ahmadi was credited with saving his 7-year-old son, Artin, as their kayak capsized. Witnesses reported that while they both fell into the water, Ahmadi supported his son, ensuring he remained afloat until help arrived. Unfortunately, he lost consciousness, later succumbing to a heart attack at the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley. According to reports, even though he was a fit individual, regularly exercising at the gym three times a week, he could not survive the ordeal.

During family gatherings, Ahmadi, who was born in Iran, cherished moments spent with loved ones, including a day out with over a dozen friends and family at the lake. This particular outing was special for Artin, as it marked his first kayaking experience. Longtime family friend Mojgan Manafi recounted Ahmadi’s efforts to keep Artin safe. Initially, responders found Ahmadi unconscious, partially submerged in water, while Artin, though in distress, was still conscious, helping to keep himself above water.

According to California State Parks, both father and son were not wearing life jackets, despite the presence of one in the kayak. California law mandates that all boaters aged 12 and below must wear a life jacket. Mojgan Manafi reflected on her husband’s life, stating he had endured significant challenges, particularly losing his father at a young age of just nine, leading him to shoulder family responsibilities early on. The couple met through a mutual friend when Manafi arrived from South Africa; they shared a deep bond over their Iranian heritage.
