Set to illuminate the spectacular waters of Newport Harbor from December 16 to 20, 2026, this cherished tradition draws crowds from near and far, showcasing beautifully adorned vessels gliding across the water like glowing jewels.
What to Expect at the Parade
The 118th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, promises an unforgettable experience. The parade kicks off each evening at 6:30 PM, starting and concluding at the Tip of Lido Isle. Expect to see an array of creatively decorated yachts, boats, kayaks, and canoes, all participating in this festive display of holiday spirit.
What makes this event truly special is the vibrant community atmosphere. Participants and spectators alike will come together to celebrate the season with laughter, hot cocoa, and the joy of innovative light displays.
Ideal Viewing Locations
For the best experience, strategic planning around viewing locations is key. One of the prime spots to catch the parade is Marina Park, a 10.5-acre community park that offers ample amenities, including 177 parking spaces, a sailing center, and a nautical-themed playground for families. This locale serves as the largest public viewing area along the parade route, making it an excellent choice for families and friends wanting to soak in the festive ambiance.
Alternatively, numerous dining establishments located along the waterfront offer fantastic "Dine & Watch" options that allow spectators to enjoy meal experiences while taking in the parade. Dining close to the water’s edge makes for a memorable night filled with culinary delights and captivating sights.
